Open.... was the first interactive service to be launched on the Sky Digital platform in the UK, doing so in July of 1999 with the 2.5.9 firmware update for Sky Digiboxes.[ citation needed ]

Features
Open.... introduced a myriad of features to the Sky Digital television platform, utilising the Digibox's connection to satellite and phone line: the latter of which used a 33.6k dial-up modem that was included as standard in every Digibox.
